Come, take the journey of Life long learning with me!

Life Long Learning is free from being about a destination to get to or how to “teach” your child “subjects” such as reading and math; or “teaching” them what they need to know for life…Life Long Learning is just what it says it is ~ discovering how to learn as a way of being in unlimitless possibilities ~ learning your whole life long ~  of learning and growing together through life.

Please come enjoy this journey with me. Allow me to bestow this gift upon you now. Allow me to be free from “teaching” you anything, but rather to show you the path, to allow you to remember. So that you then too, can begin your Life Long Learning journey and forward the learning onto others ~

I so enjoyed this book! Patti, you have inspired me. There is so much wonderful information for parents who "homeschool" as well as for parents to don't. I have already shared this with my neighbor who homeschools her son with aspergers syndrome. What a blessing!
Thank you for sharing this ~ you are amazing!  Amy

Dear Patti,

I would just like to say how much I enjoyed reading your book - I have struggled for many years to fully embrace Life Long Learning,  even though on an intellectual level I know it is the right way.  The story of your journey has moved me along a great distance.  Thank you for the time and effort you put in to write it.

Best wishes,

Dearest Patti,

I wanted to give you my thoughts on reading your book. First, I LOVE the cover. I want to say that it is very well written and persuasive. It makes me think about the possibilities of Life Long Learning. I liked your analogy on blueberries, and you have a very progressive way of thinking. I think sometimes students just trudge along school, without thinking that there can be an alternative to learning, that learning can be fun, that intellectual curiosity is insatiable, and that you have to nurture it.

I love the quotes within the book. They provide a nice segue way to your writing, as well as your examples involving your own children (the experiences at the museum, their own interests, going to museum exhibits, asking questions) and as well as that of your peers...what they are thinking and doing. I like the fact that you respect children, you don't seem them as "children" but as "little people" in which they can learn from you, and you can learn from them. You stress the importance of their "self," and how learning builds up their character and self worth, and how traditional schooling kind of neglects that. I also like the fact that you mentioned that you have worked in private and public school sector because it shows that you have experienced and participated in the "traditional" learning sphere, and so you are able to legitimately compare the traditional vs. Life Long Learning. The tone of the book is very consistent., very enthusiastic, and heart warming. The reader can sense that you are writing this book because you feel deeply about the message, and that is what makes a good book.

Your book also shows children how to be respectful and responsible human beings. I like concept of "GEE" and how it can show children the value of money, how its a tool, and its something that the family can talk about openly. It's not something to be spent extravagantly, but its not something meant to be horded either.

I am  currently taking an educational psychology so I also can relate to what you said about letting children make their own choices in life. It is only when you inhibit their choices, that they become angry and tend to rebel, because we are all human beings, and we all should have the right to the infinite possibilities of life.

The "stuff" section of the book also had profound meaning to me because we can all see in everyday society that people have become slaves to objects. What you said rings true. People, they work so they can buy more things or work to maintain the things that they have. They invest in objects, instead of relationships, and spirituality ...and I do not know if its the Chinese in me, but I certainly believe in Feng Shui, and the precepts of not holding onto clutter, which promotes negative energy.  I just want to let you know how much I love your book. It has been so helpful to me and I know it will be to others as well.

Love and Light,
Tracy , New York, USA
